Here is the video of the first day of field trials for the biological fouling on ship hulls cleaning technologies designed within GreenHull. Truly test prototypes and verify their working hypotheses is of paramount importance in any experimental scientific work to continue their development by optimising time and resources. The day was also an opportunity to meet in person after the tough period of restrictions imposed by the pandemic and discuss the solutions adopted and to be adopted to best achieve the goals set by the project. On the one hand, the prototype of a biological fouling cleaning system on ship hulls, which is based on the principle of cavitation, was physically tested while, on the other hand, the foundations were laid for the continuation of the preparation of joint cross-border guidelines and strategies for the use of IBSN cleaning technologies.

GreenHull has developed an innovative integrated system for a fast removal of biological encrustations (#biofouling) from the hulls of boats and from submerged surfaces, without resorting to boat storage and without releasing polluting material into the water, thanks to an ROV connected to a modular #depuration plant for waste water able to operate in a "circular logic" and in compliance with the legal requirements.
The Interreg V-A Italy-Slovenia GreenHull project arises from the cross-border collaboration between the world of #research and #enterprises: universities and research centers, companies and organizations supporting businesses, united to protect the ecosystem of the Adriatic Sea! 30 months of work and 3 #prototypes made.
